Some have mentioned a camp out. When planning this event 6 weeks ago I had wanted to include a camp out on Saturday night. However with the recent flooding of Aug 4th and the addition of the horde of man eating mesquitoes that have emerged I'm going to say we should bag that idea. Currently trying to fly at dusk with a good coating of deet on is nearly impossible. The local stores don't stock enough bug spray and tiki torches to make it a viable or fun evening.
My 2 cents on a camp over.
Agreed. The bugs are immune to deet now. It seems as though someone has genetically altered them, so that they can drink deet, and it only makes them stronger, and faster.
Put me down for a potato salad and a macaroni salad.
Hi Kevin,
Matt has ready signed up for a pototo salad, we probably don't need 2. I've got you down for the macaroni one.
thanks for helping,
Al
I will provide 24 hamburgers and hamburger rolls. I will also bring 2 large trash cans with liners.
Thanks Steve
Al, thanks to getting to the master list before I did. Thanks to all who signed up.
If you're planning on coming but not signing up to bring anything please drop me a message , I'm looking for 1 or 2 helpers to run the grills etc But more looking for a rough count to make sure we have plenty of food.
Let's hope for the same amount of sunshine and less wind than this weekend.

Al, Put me down for hot dogs and the rolls. Has anybody rough guessed as to how many we expect in attendance? Bob Fraser
Excellent, thanks Bob
Fred/Al
just looking at the list, not sure if you need it(list says yes) but I will bring a cooler with ice in it. I will stop on my way through the farm area and put balloons on the speed limit signs. If the GMRC sign is up I will put some on that as well, if not I'll leave extras if you want to move them.
I got sidetracked by IRCHA
I've posted this to our brand new Website.

Thanks OD
I'm trying to attend. Sounds fun, missed this last Tuesday night. I can offer photography, and video shooting.
Hey forget all those other "normal" commitments, the anniversaries, birthdays, back to college trips. They can all wait! Get on down to the fun fly. ![]()
Ha! I actually have a birthday party to go to! It's in the evening, naturally, so I'll have plenty of time to go to both.
Hi James,
Nice!!! Get to go flying during the day and eat cake at night. Sounds like a perfect day for you!
Hey, Were almost 24 hours away!
I Just wanted to add a little teaser for people to come on down for people who may not have read, or not been on the email list.
We're Going to Have some very cool events going on.
Spectators can have the chance to fly a trainer plane! With some supervision of course :-), Spectators ages 8 and up can have a chance to fly our club trainer plane. (People wanting to fly must sign up for the AMA intro pilot program which is a free program that provides insurance for 60 days for people to test out Radio Controlled Aircraft! Trainer Pilots are allowed to disallow anyone from this event for any reason if he/she feels the spectator is unable to operate the plane in a safe manor.)
For Pilots and Spectators we have a 50/50 Raffle, BBQ cookout, and a "shoot a plane with a paintball" ($5 for 30 rounds, subject to change)
For Pilots: We are going to have contests like Balloon pops, limbo, combat, pylon racing, and spot landings. Entrance fee will be $5-10 per event and winner will take home more than half of the entrance fees for that event. All of the events will be unrestricted class, you can use any plane, with any power source, of any size. Helicopters welcome too!
(Contest Director AND Safety officer has the right to disqualify any contestant who breaks a field safety rule, or is flying in a manor that could endanger other pilots/spectators.)
We're coming up from VMC.
What time does the flying start?
Fees to fly are what?
The event technically starts at 10:00 AM, but if you show up before than your welcome to start flying (no nitro / no gas / no whiny-hi-pitched electrics before 9am or after dark). There is no set "landing fee." It will be run similarly to VMC's fun fly in that we are asking for donations for the bbq or if your just feeling generous.
Its great to have you guys up!
We are not yet paid members but we can bring some soft drinks. We will be there around noon after our morning soccer game. Our membership forms are filled out. I will bring them to the event.
See ya there!
