Foamy
For anyone that might be interested in getting a cheap foamy that flies great, I highly recommend the WM Parkflyers.com Mc Foamy. Mark Berardo help (mostly did it all) build one with me, and last night the thing just about hovered hands off. It was great.
You can find it here

Its 65 for the painted version, and only 45 for the unpainted. Way fun, and very durable!
Here is a pic of mine ready to go,

John, Which motor, ESC, Batt, etc did you use on your McFoamy and did you add any strips of carbon fiber? Thanks Bob F
I want to say hat the motor is a 24 gram hextronic 1700kv from hobby city, as well as a 10amp esc.
i use 460 mah 3 cell packs, and a gws 9x5 prop. no extra carbon.
here is a shot of the bottom. the orange on the bottom is something i asked for extra.
you'll notice only carbon bracing on 1 side. works well and saves weight

I love this plane. I fly it everyday, as long as the wind is less than 10mph. 3 cell for sure in the wind though
I ordered a McFoamy last week. Hope to have it here soon. Thanks for the advice and picture of your plan.
Thanks John, appreciate it! Bob F
It's here, but wait! The box is bent and the wing carbon broken. Not good. Also, I didn't notice that the motor mount didn't come with the kit. No matter, a quick call to Western Michigan Park Flyers and the new wing (no charge) and motor mount are on the way.

Dam usps bending important stuff!!
The Red line in this picture symbolizes how far the wind will carry a McFoamy in 15 seconds. I had ZERO control. Felt a very light breeze on the ground, took off, then BAM! It was gone. I powered down the motor, and it landed way, way far out. When I got the plane, as I couldnt see it till I crested the bank, I saw it near the road. When i arrived at the spot where it went down, the tail was hanging into the road of the curb about 4 inches. On my walk over to it, I saw at least 30 cars pass by. Someone up there, above the clouds stopped my favorite plane from being turned back into a bunch of unglued balls of styrofoam! Thank you plane gods, thanks you!
7 once planes with 12 ounces of thrust, are challenged when in 15mph winds.....
Very, I almost lost my baby! I couldnt beleive it. No motor and it flew like a kite.
My new McFoamy few for the first time yesterday. Wow is it nimble. For the 2nd flight I switched to low rates and added some expo. There sure is plenty of thrust. It seems loops are accomplished in one or two plane lengths. Now if I just had more skill. Thanks, John, for finding this plane.
They have 3 different planes now, all a little different. Awesome indoors and outside with low to no wind. To make it last, resist repairs with CA, use welders glue. It takes longer, but the airframe will stay flexable.
Just ordered the New MX2 they have. With 2 servo's, and the wooden horn upgrade, free shipping, about $80.00. Can't wait to add this one to the fleet!
