Brushless Conversion, Hobbico Flyzone piper cub
I am going to convert a hobbico piper cub 38 inch wingspan foamie, to Brushless. the brushed motor just doesnt have nearly enough power to fly it. here is the link to the plane if it might help here. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXVVX2&P=7 . It has a 380 motor. the motor mount is interestingly designed. it is almost like a cradle that the motor sits in, and then rubber bands hold the motor in the cradle. It seems like the craddle is angled slightly leaning the motor to the left slightly, i assume to correct for torque roll or something? anyway, any help is greatly apreciated. I need to know what motor to use, as well as a matching speed control, that will handle maybe a 3 cell 1000mah lipo. and what do i do for mounting? I plan on ordering from hobby city, so a link or something would be great also. thanks for the help, and happy flying fellow GMRC er's.
This is a small plane, standard 380 brushed motor weighs 85G's.
100W per pound on this type plane, so look for 150W-250W motor.
Would fly nice with 8x6, 1050-1200KV motor. 3S, 1200mah-1800mah, 20C
Here are a few:

Ive looked at hobby city, I guess I just dont understand there mesures on brushless motors. Any one? Mark B?
